Teen Service Award

The Friends of the Northborough Library sponsor an annual Library Service Award which is awarded to a graduating high school senior in recognition of their outstanding service to the Northborough Library.  The award amount will be at least $750 this year.

Anyone who has been a library volunteer and who is now a graduating senior is eligible for the award.  The application forms are available at the guidance offices of local high schools and at the Library.  Further college study is NOT required for this award. It is designed to award past service, whatever your future plans might be. The deadline is April 15, 2025.

The recipient of the award will be chosen by a committee appointed by the Friends. Criteria for the award is primarily based on their volunteer work for the Northborough Library or the Friends.  The volunteer service does not necessarily have to have occurred in the last year; the award is designed to promote library volunteerism throughout the Teen years.  Past award recipients have been booksale volunteers, Children’s Room volunteers, TAG volunteers or library-based free tutors. Over the course of the award, more than a thousand hours of service at the library have been provided by the award recipients.
