We can get that for you through Interlibrary Loan!

The Northborough Free Library is part of a regional, state, and national network of libraries that shares books, movies, journal articles, and other materials across the continental US. If you were not able to find what you wanted in the C/W MARS catalog, we can help you find it in another library network.

Call us at 508-393-5025 ext 3, email  noboadults@cwmars.org  or use the Interlibrary Loan Form to get the process started.

Formally known as the Virtual Catalog, the Commonwealth Catalog searches across all the library networks in Massachusetts. Simply start with a search, and then request it! Many Commonwealth Catalog materials should arrive at the library for you within two weeks. They are loaned to you for 3 weeks with no renewals.

Some things to know about interlibrary loan:

  • Things take a bit longer to get here when they are coming from libraries outside of C/W MARS. Although most materials we request arrive within 2 weeks, it may take up to 6 weeks. Please let us know if something is time dependent.
  • Interlibrary loans are not always renewable. Please ask us at least 3 days before the due date if you think you may need to extend the loan.
  • Almost all items published within the current year are not available for loan. If what you're looking for is new, please let us know, or fill out the Suggest a Title form.
  • At this time, we cannot request ebooks, eaudio, nor any other digital media outside of C/W MARS. More digital material may be available for loan with an eCard from the Boston Public Library.
