Volunteer Opportunities

Thank you for your interest in volunteering at the Northborough Free Library!

Please visit the Friends of the Library page for information on volunteering with the Friends.

Please fill out the Volunteer Application Form (attached below) and turn it into the library. Paper copies are available at the library.

Applicants in grades 8-12 must complete the applications themselves, except for the last section, which must be completed by a parents or guardian. Parents, please do not fill out the application for your teenage child.

Volunteers typically work on tasks like:

  • Shelf reading
  • Cleaning
  • Craft prep
  • Processing books
  • Other small projects as available

Please email your completed form to Reference at noboadults@cwmars.org or bring it to the Reference Desk on the 2nd floor. We hold individual applications for up to 1 year. Send any questions/concerns to the same email address.

Teens Take the Lead

Teens Take the Lead is a program organized by the Teen Services Department to showcase the talents and support the passions of the teens in our community, grades 6-12.  This program is designed to assist:

  • Individuals or small groups of teens looking to share their skills and interests by teaching a program for other teen library patrons.
  • Teens wanting to coordinate/direct a service project using the resources of the library.
