Who can request a public meeting room?

Reservation must be made by a Northborough resident or Northborough town employee who will serve as the primary contact for the booking.  The contact person must be at least 18 years of age and must attend the meeting.

What meeting rooms are available to me?

The Meeting Room seats up to 74 people with tables and chairs. It includes 10 tables that may be set up. It also has a large projector screen, microphones, and a podium. It is on the first floor, connected to the lobby by a hallway.

The Conference Room seats 10 people at a large conference table, with perimeter seating to accommodate a total of 18 people. This room has a large dry erase board. It is located to your left as you come in the main doors of the library.

The Children's Program Room contains 5 child-sized tables and 20 child-sized chairs on half of the room, with linoleum on the floor.  The other half of the room has a carpet and a dramatic play area, with a brick pillar in the middle of the room separating the two areas.  There is a sink in the room.   It is located in the children's room on the first floor of the library, accessible by either a ramp or a small staircase.

What kind of equipment is available to me?

Each room is slightly different in terms of what equipment is available.  Please refer to the Public Meeting Room Policy for specific information on each room.

Can my group meet outside of library hours?

The Meeting and Conference Rooms, as well as public restrooms, are isolated from the rest of the library with a pull-down gate.  Your meeting may continue after hours if:

  • you have reserved either the Meeting or Conference Room
  • the meeting begins during library hours
  • the contact person submits a completed After Hours Use Form at least 24 hours prior to the start of the meeting
  • your meeting ends by 10pm

Meetings cannot be held on days when the library is closed entirely, and cannot begin before the library opens.  The Children's Program Room is not available after hours.

I have a very large group. Is there anything I should know?

Yes! The library has very limited parking which must remain available for other library activities. Groups of 50+ people using the Meeting Room should use the municipal parking lot at the corner of Pierce and Hudson Streets.
