Spring Storywalk (TM)

The Northboro Library Children's Room, and the Peaslee and Zeh School librarians present our 5th townwide StoryWalk(TM).  In honor of National Poetry Month, the walk will feature poems of Emily Dickinson as well as favorite nursery rhymes.  Recommended for families, seniors, nature lovers, and kids at heart!  The walk will take place on the Goldfinch Trail at Edmund Hill @ the Northboro Senior Center.  The walk will be held from April 27th to May 26th.  Remember to sign the guest book!!  No registration required.

Yoga for the Young

Spend some quality time with your toddler and get in some nice stretches for yourself!  Yoga postures will be adapted to work with your little one so that both participants will benefit from the practice.  This class is playful and flexible (no pun intended!) to respond to the demands of young yogis.  Dress in comfortable clothing and bring a yoga mat if you have one!  This class will be led by Linda Davis!

Preschool Sensory Integration Program

Join Barrett Family Wellness Center for fun sensory stations known to stimulate both occupational and speech learning in preschool aged children.  We will be marble painting, squishing shaving cream,  searching for treasures and more!  While playing, we will be working  on articulation and vocabulary without the children even realizing how hard they are working.  The program will be staffed by pediatric occupational and speech therapists (as well as graudate students) from  Northborough’s Barrett Family Wellness Center.

Summer Reading Kickoff Program -- Fun with Fossils and Dinosaurs!

Our 2013 Summer Reading theme is "Dig Into Reading"!  Dressed for digging, fossil hunter Paulette Morin will introduce children to the wonders of dinosaurs and all thing prehistoric.  The program will begin with storytelling using a 5 foot tall book, music, and more!  Then Paulette will talk about how to find fossils.  She has over 100 fossils for children to examine!  This event will be held at the Proctor Elementary School.  You must register to attend, as there is limited space!  Registration begins June 1st.

Massachusetts State Police detective Marty Foley for a discussion of the1999 murder case of May Greineder of Wellesley, MA. Go
behind-the-scenes with the authors as they explore how this Halloween night murder shocked and divided families and a community, and learn details of how the investigation led to the arrest of May's prominent physician husband, Dirk Greineder, who was revealed to be leading a secret, illicit double life. Copies of their books will be available for purchase at the end of the discussion.

Join the Gravestone Girls in their mission to "Keep the Past Alive" by learning the craft of gravestone rubbing.  This workshop begins with a tour of the Howard St. Cemetery where you'll learn about the lore and art of gravestones through the years.  A demonstration of rubbing a gravestone follows.  Participants will then get a chance to create their own rubbing. All materials are provided.  This workshop is appropriate for people aged 16+.  REGISTER at the Reference Desk
